This is a collaboration CD between the famous german composer ASMUS TIETCHENS and the well known belgian musician VIDNA OBMANA. The idea of a Tietchens/Vidna Obmana collaboration was born nearly four years ago. Though both composers have a total different approach to music, they cherish a deep mutual respect to their music. But the question arose: how can they collaborate considering their disparate styles? They agreed to the following procedure: VIDNA OBMANA will create basic tracks in his studio (Antwerpen) and mail this material to ASMUS TIETCHENS who'll process it in his way. After a series of experiments it was clear that this procedure works, and it was also clear that the final result will differ from TIETCHENS' music as well as from VIDNA OBMANA's. Both musician dared this step and were agreable surprised by the strange output (VOT 1-3). These three pieces are good examples for creative collaboration by mail. To give the listener the opportunity to make comparisons each one typical solo piece by VIDNA OBMANA (Vanishing Habitat) and ASMUS TIECHENS (Hydrophonie 13A) has been added to the three collaborative pieces.
