This is their second CD release, their best work and one of the most beautiful records appeared since 5 years in the international music scene.... We are proud to announce it! "Chos Khor" represents the universe in which the human beings live, the world they inhabit. The musical themes developed in these recordings refer to human populations and their natural environment. "Chos Khor" offers visions of different parts of the World. So by creating that music, the aim of Raksha Mancham is to reproduce that vision of the World by suggesting images in the mind of the listener. By this way Raksha Mancham would like to reaffirm its deep attachment to the tribal and traditional aboriginal populations. As before Raksha Mancham wants to denonce genocides and culturcides and want to call for respect, brotherhood, Humanity. All the instruments used by Raksha Mancham on this recording have been selected for their acoustic performances. No instrument required sampling techniques, no keyboard, no synthesizer, no rhythm programmer/machine used. The use of traditional instruments, especially when they are sacred ones, has been made with the greatest respect. It is important to consider the particular cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples as a source of enrichment for the whole Humanity. One can also notice that some instruments have been chosen after long researches on local fields:gLing-Bu in Ladak, shehnai in Nepal....In the same time, a large number of environmental recordings have been specially recorded on selected locations. In order to achieve these results, the members of Raksha Mancham had to eat the most disgusting food you can imagine, fly above the highest montains of Earth, cross the Tibetan plateau, sail on lakes surrounded by a luxurious vegetations, pass the Himalaya range, walk upon trembling bridges made of rope and wood, face the desert and dust, walk under a scorging sun, or in the cold light of the morning......they faced the wildest men you can imagine and their look had met the eyes of the most beautiful women on Earth...... Now, it's up to you! "They crossed centuries and milleniums. They still inhabit the places where their ancestors lived. They faced wars and diseases, invasions and lootings.....Through the time they accumulated knowledge and widsom, culture and brotherhood....Their music is the music of their bodies, their songs the songs of their souls and their instruments are made with/by the world they inhabit and the spirit that surround them. The sound they produce is not the sound of a fashion, it is the sound of the wind, the sound of the water, the sound of the fire, the sound the sound of their hearts. And they sing: they sing about death, they sing about love.... All about them is eternal/essential. They were the first peoples and they will be the last ones......" all benefits on the royalties made by Raksha Mancham from this Compat Disc will be given to the Tibetan Youth Congress, a worldwide organisation that struggles for the restoration of the complete indipendance of Tibet. It's aim is also to worl for the preservation and promotion of Tibet's unique culture, religion and traditions. The creation of 'Chos Khor" in 1993 is not a coincidence as 1993 has been proclaimed International Year of the Indigenous Peoples by the United Nations Organization. |
